Ben Affleck may be a movie star and ultra famous in his own right, but even he underestimated the attention his superstar wife Jennifer Lopez would receive on a walk in public.
The Argo star appeared on the season four premiere of Kevin Hart's Peacock talk show Hart to Heart where he detailed the "f------ bananas" fan encounter he, Lopez and their blended family — including her twins Max and Emme that she shares with ex Marc Anthony and Affleck's children Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner — once experienced while heading to see a play in New York City, per E! News.
"She's so famous and people love her," Affleck said. "She really represents something important to people. People are like, 'A! J.Lo!' It's amazing."
He recounted the time he and their family were running late for the play when they got stuck in traffic in Time Square just a couple blocks from their destination. Rather than sit in the car for however long it would take to keep driving, the Academy Award winner suggested walking the rest of the way instead.
"We had to get out of the car," he said. "I was like, 'F--- it, baby, we're gonna be late. We gotta walk a block and a half.' She was like 'alright.' She didn't say s---. I was like, 'We gotta go, we gotta walk!' You get impatient because the traffic's gonna be like 10 minutes and it will take us two minutes to walk."
However, shortly into their walk, the "On the Floor" singer was noticed by another pedestrian who ended up drawing even more attention to the famous couple.
"This s--- was like f------ bananas," he said. "There was a lady smoking weed, she's in a purple skin-tight suit. And she starts running backwards filming going 'J.Lo!' like a herald that then gets everybody else — and they're all tourists — just whoosh!"
Though Affleck said his kids seemed to take the interaction in stride, including his daughter joking that her hypothetical future autobiography could be titled J.Lo Was My Stepmother, he still has worries about what his fame, as well as Lopez' and Garner's, may have on their children.
"Every day I'm alive I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing by them, making their lives better," he said. "And that doesn't mean that sometimes I don't come home and I see that they've gone through some bulls---. It breaks my heart where I'm like, 'This s--- would never happen if I wasn't in this life.' And it's hard. I really, really f------ second guess it a lot."
